Los Angeles Lakers Host 6 Players For A Pre Draft Workout

The Los Angeles Lakers hosted six players on Tuesday for a pre-draft workout.

Earlier this month, the Los Angeles Lakers had their season come to an end when they lost Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals by a score of 113-111 to the Denver Nuggets.

Despite getting swept, the Lakers had an excellent season, finishing as one of the top four teams in the NBA.

Now that they are in the 2023 offseason, the attention of the franchise will shift to the upcoming NBA Draft, which will be held on June 22

On Tuesday, the team hosted a workout that featured six players.

Marcus Carr - Texas

Djordjije Jovanovic - Ontario Clippers

Justyn Mutts - Virginia Tech

Tyger Campbell - UCLA

Anton Watson - Gonzaga

Kevin Obanor - Texas Tech

Teams all around the league will typically host several players at a time and evaluate them by putting them through workouts and interviews.

The Lakers have two picks in the Draft (17th and 47th).

While the Lakers have not had many Draft picks over the last few seasons, they are known to be good at finding hidden gems.

Last year, they drafted Max Christie (35th), and the former Michigan State star averaged 14.5 points per contest in 17 G League games.

In addition, the Lakers signed Austin Reaves as an undrafted free agent in the summer of 2021.

He was one of the top five players on the team during the 2022-23 NBA season, averaging 13.0 points per contest on 52.9% shooting from the field.
