LeBron James Could Make NBA History On Tuesday Night

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James could become the NBA’s all-time leading scorer on Tuesday night when the Lakers play the Oklahoma City Thunder.

36 points.

That is all that separates LeBron James from the ultimate milestone in the NBA – becoming the league’s all-time leading scorer.

Even before he made his NBA debut in October, 2003, LeBron James was being called the next “king” of basketball and now in Year 20, James continues to prove that he is one of the greatest basketball players in NBA history and in some people’s minds, the greatest player ever.

James and the Los Angeles Lakers will be back in action on Tuesday, February 6 when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder, a game that is already sold out and a game that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will likely be in attendance for.

Being just 36 points away from passing Kareem on the all-time scoring list, LeBron James could very much make history against the Thunder.

Scoring 36 points is not something that is easy to do, especially against a team that ranks 11th in defensive rating this season, but James is no ordinary player.

Now being 38-years-old, James has scored at least 36 points in nine different games this season. In a total of 43 games, LeBron has recorded at least 30 points in 21 different games.

If we know one thing about LeBron James, it is that he will be gunning for the record and trying to get it over with against the Thunder on Tuesday night, which is why he has a chance to become the NBA’s all-time leading scorer in this game.

“I just want to win,” James said recently following his team’s 131-126 defeat at the hands of the New Orleans Pelicans. “You know, you play the game the right way and see what happens… I’m tired as hell.”

James did tell reporters following the Lakers’ most recent loss that he will be playing on Tuesday night.

Whether he finally breaks the record on Tuesday or waits to do so on Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks, the other team Kareem Abdul-Jabbar played for alongside the Lakers in his career, LeBron James will be making NBA history this week in a massive way.
