Los Angeles Lakers Make A Roster Move Ahead Of Friday Night Game Against Raptors

The Los Angeles Lakers recalled Max Christie from the South Bay Lakers in the NBA G League on Friday afternoon.

Currently 32-34 on the season, the Los Angeles Lakers have won seven of their last ten games and are now the 9-seed in the Western Conference, just 1.5 games back of the Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves ahead of them in the standings.

Ahead of their matchup against the Toronto Raptors on Friday night, the Lakers made a quick roster adjustment, as they recalled rookie guard Max Christie from the South Bay Lakers in the NBA G League.

All season long, the Lakers have assigned and recalled the recent second-round picks to and from the G League, allowing him to work on his development given that he does not always see time on the floor for Los Angeles.

Being featured in 37 games for the Lakers this season, Christie has averaged 3.5 points and 2.0 rebounds while shooting 41.9 percent from both the floor and three-point range.

The last time he was on the floor for Los Angeles was on March 1 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, as Max Christie scored two points in six total minutes.

In the G League with the South Bay Lakers this year, Christie has played in a total of 10 games, averaging 3.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 29.1 minutes per game.

He most recently played for South Bay on Wednesday, recording 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists against the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the G League affiliates of the Miami Heat. Christie was sent to South Bay earlier this week ahead of this game.

Following Friday's game against Toronto, the Lakers will likely assign Christie back to the G League, that way he continues to see the maximum amount of reps during the final month of the regular season.
