On Monday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the San Antonio Spurs have waived NBA veteran Al-Farouq Aminu.

The Tweet from Chariana can be seen embedded below.

Aminu was part of the sign-and-trade that sent DeMar DeRozan from the San Antonio Spurs to the Chicago Bulls.

Therefore, he spent the off-season as a member of the Spurs, and was on their preseason roster.

The 31-year-old has had a solid NBA career that is going into it's 12th season.

He was originally the eighth overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers and spent the first season of his career there.

Following the Clippers, he played for the New Orleans Hornets (now Pelicans) for three seasons, and one season on the Dallas Mavericks.

He then found a home on the Portland Trail Blazers for four seasons.

The past two years he has been on the Orlando Magic and Chicago Bulls.

In 711 career regular season games he has averages of 7.5 points 6.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists.
