According to Shams Chariana of The Athletic, the New York Knicks have agreed to a two-way deal with Luka Samanic.

The Tweet from Chariana can be seen in a post that is embedded below.

Samanic was the 19th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft by the San Antonio Spurs.

He a 6'10" power forward and is 21 years old, and has played for the Spurs for the last two seasons.

During his rookie season he averaged 5.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 16 minutes per game.

However, this past season his minutes went down to just 9.3 minutes per game, and his production dipped.

He averaged 3.7 points and 2.1 rebounds per game last season.

For the Knicks, it's still a good chance to get a former first round pick from just a couple seasons ago for essentially nothing.

Chariana reported that the deal is for a two-way contract, and that means that he will play for both the Knicks and their G-League team the Westchester Knicks.
