Significant Andrew Wiggins Update Reported On Monday

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski has reported an update on Golden State Warriors star Andrew Wiggins.

The Golden State Warriors have been playing without one of their best players (Andrew Wiggins) since the middle of February.

The former Kansas star has been out due to personal reasons.

On Monday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Wiggins will likely return soon.

Via Wojnarowski: "ESPN Sources: Golden State Warriors All-Star forward Andrew Wiggins is nearing a return to the team and is expected to be back early this week. Wiggins has missed 21 games attending to a family matter. Huge boost for the defending champions and sixth seed in the West."

Wiggins had been in the middle of another fantastic season with averages of 17.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.2 steals per contest in 37 games.

He's also shooting a tremendous 47.3% from the field and 39.6% from the three-point range.

Last season, he made his first All-Star Game and was a big reason why the Warriors were able to win the NBA Championship over the Boston Celtics.

The first of the 22 games that Wiggins missed was on February 14, and the Warriors are 12-10 in that span (via StatMuse).

Therefore, they have done an excellent job of keeping themselves afloat in the standings despite his absence.

Right now, the Warriors are the sixth seed in the Western Conference with a 41-38 record in 79 games.

That said, the west has been so close that they are only a half-game ahead of the New Orleans Pelicans and Los Angeles Lakers.

The Warriors will play their next game on Tuesday night when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Chase Center.
