Derrick Rose appears to have gotten some great news heading into the new NBA season.

The former league MVP shared a photo on Instagram of his private dinner proposal on the court of Madison Square Garden.

The photo can be seen embedded below from Roes's Instagram.

The world's most famous arena for a proposal.

Not too shabby.

As for on the court, Rose had a fantastic season with the Knicks after being traded in the middle season from the Detroit Pistons.

The Knicks were the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference, and got home court advantage in the playoffs.

Although they lost in the first round in five games to the Hawks, the season was a success due to the fact they have not even been to the playoffs in eight seasons.

Rose, reunited with his old coach Tom Thibodeau for the third time (Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves previously), averaged 14.9 points and 4.2 assists per game after the trade.

He also started three games in the playoffs, and averaged 19.4 points per game in the series with the Hawks.
