UPDATE: Steph Curry Will Likely Make NBA History On Monday Night

Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry can make NBA history on Monday night.

UPDATE: Steph Curry has now moved into 39th on the all-time scoring list.

On Monday night, the Golden State Warriors will be on the road to face off with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Steph Curry is in the middle of a remarkable season with averages of 29.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 6.4 assists per contest (while shooting 49.1% from the field and 42.2% from the three-point range).

The future Hall of Famer recently became the 40th player in league history to score 21,000 points, and he has a chance to make more history on Monday night.

Curry is only 17 points away from passing Chicago Bulls star DeMar DeRozan for 39th on the all-time scoring list.

DeRozan has scored 21,083 points through 1,003 career regular season games, while Curry has scored 21,067 points in 860 games.

The Bulls do not play on Monday night, so as long as Curry scores 17 points, he will move ahead of DeRozan.

That said, since both players are in the middle of their careers, they could go back and forth on the list.

This season, DeRozan is averaging 26.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 5.0 assists while shooting 51.3% from the field.

He is not on Curry's level of stardom but is a five-time NBA All-Star who will go down as one of the better shooting guards of all time.

DeRozan and the Bulls will play their next game on Tuesday evening when they host the Los Angeles Clippers at the United Center in Illinois.

Right now, they are tied for the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 23-26 record, while the Warriors are tied for the sixth seed in the Western Conference with a 25-24 record.
