BREAKING: 2022 NBA All-Star Fined $30,000

The NBA announced that Toronto Raptors star Fred VanVleet has been fined $30,000.

On Wednesday evening, the Toronto Raptors lost 108-100 to the Los Angeles Clippers (on the road in California).

Fred VanVleet finished his night with 13 points, four rebounds, nine assists and three steals in 39 minutes of playing time.

After the game, he did not hold back when talking about the referees.

VanVleet: "I don't mind. I'll take a fine. I don't really care. I thought Ben Taylor was f--king terrible tonight. I thought that on most nights out of the three, there's one or two that just f--k the game up. It's been like that a couple games in a row. Denver was tough, obviously. Come out tonight, competing pretty hard, third quarter, I get a bulls--t tech. Changed the whole dynamic of the game, changed the whole flow of the game. Most of the refs are trying hard. I like a lot of the refs. They're trying hard. They're pretty fair, they communicate well. And then you got the other ones who wanna be d--ks and just kind of f--ks the game up, nobody's coming to see that s--t. They come to see the players. I think were losing a little bit of the fabric of what the NBA is and was. It's been disappointing this season. You can look up most of my techs this year have been with Ben Taylor officiating. At a certain point as a player, you feel it's personal. That's never a good place to be. That's not why we lost tonight, we got outplayed, but it definitely makes it tougher to overcome.

On Thursday evening, the NBA announced that he has been fined $30,000.

VanVleet was an All-Star in 2022 and is currently averaging 19.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 1.6 steals per contest.

The Raptors are the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 32-35 record in 67 games.

They will play their next game on Friday night against the Los Angeles Lakers (in California).
