TRADE: Sacramento Kings And Indiana Pacers Reportedly Make A Deal

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Indiana Pacers and Sacramento Kings have made a trade.

Chris Duarte was the 13th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft out of Oregon and has spent the first two seasons of his career with the Indiana Pacers.

On Thursday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Pacers had traded Duarte to the Sacramento Kings

Via Wojnarowski: "The Kings are acquiring Pacers G Chris Duarte for two second-round picks, sources tell ESPN. Pacers will receive a 2028 second (via Dallas) and the Kings' 2030 second-round pick. Trade will be finalized today."

Duarte finished this past year with averages of 7.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest while shooting 36.9% from the field and 31.6% from the three-point range in 46 regular season games.

While he had a down season, Duarte proved he is a capable shooter during his rookie season when he shot 43.2% from the field and 36.9% from the three-point range.

The Pacers have been in rebuilding mode for two seasons and finished 2023 with a 35-47 record which got them the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference.

They were competitive during the beginning of the year but ended up missing the NBA Playoffs for the third straight season.

As for the Kings, they are coming off an impressive season where they were the third seed in the Western Conference with a 48-34 record.

They made the Playoffs for the first time since 2006, which had been the longest drought in the league.

Ultimately, the Kings lost in the first round to the Golden State Warriors in seven games.
