Stinar For 3: Are The New York Knicks For Real?

Fastbreak on FanNation reporter Ben Stinar sat down with Haley Jordan to talk about the New York Knicks in Episode 11 of our daily video on hot topics around the league.

The New York Knicks are off to an impressive start to the new season with a 3-1 record, and on Thursday evening they will be put to the test facing off against the undefeated 4-0 Chicago Bulls.

The Knicks were the laughing stalk of the NBA for seven seasons, but after making the playoffs as the fourth seed last season, and starting off this season hot, things appear to be turning a corner for the historic franchise.

Are the Knicks for real?

There is good reason to believe that Tom Thibodeau's group is a legitimate contender in the Eastern Conference.

Last season in the playoffs they lost in five games to the Atlanta Hawks and their offense struggled because their best player All-Star Julius Randle couldn't get his rhythm going.

This season, they have added two huge upgrades to help Randle carry the load offensively in four-time All-Star Kemba Walker and scoring machine Evan Fournier.

The addition of those two players combined with the natural growth of R.J. Barrett will make the Knicks be able to spread the floor and not have to worry about relying solely on Randle in a playoff series.

With the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers in flux, the Knicks could make a real run at a top four seed in the conference once again.
