Source: Clippers Remain Interested In Mike Conley Despite Recent Trade Rumors

The Los Angeles Clippers have remained interested in Utah Jazz veteran point guard Mike Conley ahead of Thursday's trade deadline.

The NBA trade deadline is expected to result in quite a few big moves being made and the Los Angeles Clippers have been highly involved in rumors across the league.

The Clippers are looking to add championship-level talent around the likes of Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, resulting in the team leaving all of their options open in trade talks.

The idea of adding a new point guard is something the Clippers have shown a lot of interest in and they have been linked to several key names in recent weeks, one of which is Utah Jazz veteran Mike Conley.

While he was recently named as a player in a potential three-team deal between the Los Angeles Lakers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Utah Jazz, sources told Fastbreak on FanNation that the Clippers have remained interested and in contact with the Jazz for Conley.

Conley, 35, has been on Los Angeles' radar for quite some time now, as NBA insider Marc Stein reported last month that the Clippers had interest in the veteran.

In addition to checking in on and making an offer for Kyrie Irving when the Brooklyn Nets were looking to deal him recently, the Clippers have also shown interest in Toronto Raptors guard Fred VanVleet, Charlotte Hornets guard Terry Rozier and Miami Heat guard Kyle Lowry, Fastbreak has learned.

It is worth mentioning that D'Angelo Russell has also been mentioned as a potential target for the Clippers in recent weeks, but he is one of the players named in the potential three-team deal between the Lakers, Timberwolves and Jazz.

Playing in 43 games for the Jazz this season, Mike Conley has averaged 10.7 points and 7.7 assists per game while shooting 36.2 percent from three-point range.

His ability to not only act as the primary facilitator for his offense, but also be a three-point shooting threat off-the-ball are the two main reasons why the Clippers have had interest in Conley, especially since he would be playing alongside Paul George and Kawhi Leonard.

The general consensus around the league is that the Lakers are very motivated to get this three-team deal involving them, the Timberwolves and the Jazz done, which could result in Conley being taken off the Clippers' trade deadline wish list heading into Thursday.
