F1 News: Lando Norris Urged To Make Drastic Change After Disastrous Spanish GP

Lando Norris has been called to make a big change by fans.

Lando Norris has been urged by fans to make a big change after his troublesome Spanish Grand Prix yesterday.

The Belgian-British driver had his best starting position of the season in Barcelona, however, things quickly turned sour. After starting from third behind Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz in pole position and second, respectively, Norris had contact with Lewis Hamilton on the second corner of the opening lap.

McLaren quickly called Norris into the pits due to damage to his front wing casting him to the back of the grid. From there on out, it was an uphill battle for Norris who ended up crossing the line in seventeenth position.

Norris is in contract with McLaren until the end of 2025. CEO Zak Brown has previously mentioned that there are no exit clauses, and Norris himself has said that he will remain loyal to the team which he made his F1 debut with back in 2019. Despite this, fans are calling for the driver to make a change.

Taking to social media, one fan posted that "Norris should take Perez’s seat when he leaves Red Bull", which has sparked a debate amongst others.

Another fan disagreed with a move to Red Bull but did think a move was the right thing for Norris. 2026 will see the next regulation change and along with that is the introduction of Audi alongside the Sauber brand. They suggested a move to Audi along with Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, they posted:

"Leclerc and Norris to Audi."

There were also a couple of suggestions of Norris moving to Aston Martin in 2026. The British team recently confirmed their engine partnership with Honda in the regulation change. The issue with this potential move for Norris is that Lance Stroll's position within the team looks pretty solid with his performance so far this season and his father owning the team, and two-time champion Fernando Alonso is showing no signs of stopping any time soon.

"Norris should jump to Aston Martin in '26."

Despite the pressure from fans, Norris is unlikely to be making any decisions with his contract expiry so far off.
