Max Verstappen's Team Releases Hilarious Response To £1 Billion Aston Martin Offer Rumors

Max Verstappen's team humorously dismissed rumors of a £1 billion Aston Martin move.

After rumors of a potential £1 billion offer to Max Verstappen from Aston Martin emerged, the four-time champion's team responded to the speculation with a lighthearted "that's nice."

These rumors arose shortly after Jefferson Slack, Aston Martin managing director of commercial and marketing, allegedly hinted to sponsors about Verstappen joining the team. However, Aston Martin’s official spokesperson dismissed the claims outright.

Verstappen has been with Red Bull Racing since 2016. Over the years, he has achieved remarkable feats, including clinching his first world championship in 2021.

In 2022, Verstappen solidified his relationship with Red Bull by signing a five-year contract extension that ties him to the team until 2028.

Despite the murmurings of a shift to Aston Martin, he has confirmed his commitment to Red Bull for the 2025 season, responding simply with, “Yes,” when asked about driving for them.

Aston Martin has had its eye on Verstappen for quite some time, driven partly by team owner Lawrence Stroll's ambitions. However, Verstappen put an end to any speculation about ongoing negotiations, clarifying, “No, I haven’t talked about that at all either, just nothing at all.”

While this quells immediate concerns, the persistent interest has sparked discussions about his future moves, especially if Red Bull fails to meet expectations in upcoming seasons and considering the regulation change in 2026.

Speaking about his Red Bull contract during the 2024 season, Verstappen explained:

"I am quite a loyal person and it is something that means a lot to me. That is what I request from the team and so far that has always been great and that is what I want to keep for a long time. It would be amazing to finish my career here at Red Bull. All the years staying basically at one team would be incredible.

“I have never seen F1 as a job.

"It all started as a hobby, a passion which became a profession. It’s not really a job, of course the driving is what I really love. Going on the limit in a fast car is really, really nice. It’s more the things around it that make it feel like a job, the things that are not that enjoyable.”
