Week 13 Waiver Wire Pickups

Quarterbacks

Andy Dalton, Bengals

Look who’s back as the starter in Week 13? Big Red! He faces the Jets sketchy pass defense and could shock the world and throw for 250+ yards.

Kyle Allen, Panthers

Allen showed that he is willing to fight for the starter’s job after playing one of his best games of the year against the Saints on the road. This week he gets the Redskins who are totally outmatched on both sides of the ball.

Devlin Hodges, Steelers

If Mike Tomlin wants to avoid a riot, he will start Hodges against the Browns. Hodges is not a great QB by any means, but he is willing to challenge defenders downfield which will help the Steelers running game immensely.

Mitch Trubisky, Bears

If you are willing to ruin your Thanksgiving, Trubisky is playing against the Lions on Turkey Day. Trubisky did step up his play in Week 12 against the Giants, so if he can keep the confidence up, he has a winnable matchup on the road.

Ryan Tannehill, Titans

I have a feeling that the Titans-Colts game is going to be low scoring, but if you are desperate for a QB, Tannehill has reduced his mistakes significantly since he’s been named starter.

Running Backs

Rashaad Penny, Seahawks

I doubt he’s available in most leagues, but check to see if he’s available just in case. Penny has all kinds of talent; he just needs an injury to Chris Carson to give him the opportunity to become a star.

Benny Snell, Steelers

Snell’s value is predicated on whether James Conner returns to action. So long as Conner is out, Snell is a good bet to get 15-20 touches.

Ryquell Armstead, Jaguars

If the Jaguars continue losing, I can easily see the team shutting down Leonard Fournette and giving Armstead more opportunities down the stretch. Stash and cash with him potentially in Weeks 15-16.

Darrell Williams, Chiefs

With Damien Williams still dealing with a rib injury and LeSean McCoy slowing down rapidly, I wonder if Andy Reid will finally give Williams the starting role down the stretch. If he does, Williams could have a huge impact on the outcome of many Fantasy championships much like Damien Williams did last year.

Qadree Ollison, Falcons

Devonta Freeman is still very questionable for Thursday’s game against the Saints, and Brian Hill has shown nothing off the bench for the past two games. Enter Ollison, who is especially valuable by the goal line. Look for him to keep the short yardage RB position even after Freeman returns.

Wide Receivers

Anthony Miller, Bears

The Lions are one of the worst teams in the league in covering slot receivers and Trubisky has finally started to throw the ball Miller’s way. These two things together make him a very interesting pickup in Week 13.

Corey Davis, Titans

A former first-round pick, Davis has shown very little thus far this season. The reason he is listed here is that the Titans upcoming schedule has a few teams (Oakland, Houston, New Orleans) who will go all in on stopping RB Derrick Henry. If this happens, Tannheill is going to have to throw the ball and Davis could become more valuable down the stretch than most Fantasy owners think.

Tennessee Titans WR Corey Davis

Trevor Davis, Raiders

Hunter Renfrow is expected to miss some time with a rib injury, and it looks like Davis is the next man up in the Raiders rotation. The Raiders are not a huge passing team, but if you are desperate, Davis could flash.

John Ross, Bengals

Ross is eligible to return on December 8th, so if you want to pick him up early and beat the rest of your competition, this is probably the week to do it.

Allen Hurns, Dolphins

Hurns just got a two-year contract from the Dolphins, and with DeVante Parker drawing a lot of attention on the other side of the field, Hurns has a chance to become a solid WR2 in this offense. Don’t pay much for him considering he plays on an offense that struggles to score, but he could be worth a buck or two in FAAB.

Parris Campbell, Colts

Campbell may return in Week 13 and if so, he deserves to be on the Fantasy radar. Zach Pascal has not distinguished himself in any way as the WR2 and the Colts could desperately use Campbell’s speed on the opposite side of the field from Hilton.

Russell Gage, Falcons

Julio Jones has been dealing with shoulder issues and it wouldn’t shock me to see the Falcons shut him down at some point in the coming weeks. If this happens, Gage would step right into the lineup and be someone who Fantasy owners could feeling good about starting especially in deeper leagues.

Tight Ends

David Njoku, Browns

Stashing Njoku might be a great idea, considering the Browns have matchups against Cincinnati and Arizona (the worst team against opposing tight ends) in Weeks 14-15.

Mike Geisicki, Dolphins

Geisicki looks like he is finally comfortable in the offense and has become a trusted target of Ryan Fitzpatrick for the past month. He’s never going to be a big-time producer, but 14-16 points is possible if he can find the endzone.

Dawson Knox, Bills

Buffalo’s schedule gets very hard in the coming weeks and I expect that opposing defenses are going to put their energy into stopping WRs John Brown and Cole Beasley. If this happens, Josh Allen could begin to look in Knox’s direction and Knox could be a sneaky source of Fantasy points during the playoffs.

Kaden Smith, Giants

If Engram and Ellison are out for Week 13, Smith has a great matchup against the Packers who have been extremely generous to opposing tight ends. He’s never going to be a high-volume play, but in a standard league he could certainly catch a TD like he did against the Bears.
