Week 15 Waiver Wire Pickups

Quarterbacks

Mitch Trubisky, Chicago Bears

Shockingly, Trubisky has played well for the last three games. He has a tough matchup against the Packers, but he is more confident than ever and I can see him getting 240 yards and 1-2 TDs.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, Miami Dolphins

Week 15 against the Giants? Sign me up!! Both teams want to lose to get the higher draft pick, but I think the Dolphins win this one on the road.

Gardner Minshew, Jacksonville Jaguars

He’s mobile and should play much better against Oakland’s mediocre defense than he did against the Chargers.

Running Backs

Patrick Laird, Miami Dolphins

He’s arguably the best dual-threat RB available in most leagues. Better in PPR than in standard formats.

Darwin Thompson, Kansas City Chiefs

I wish they would give him the ball more as he is way more explosive than McCoy. With Mahomes not at 100% and Denver’s run defense very suspect, look for Thompson to get about 8-10 touches this week.

Chris Thompson, Washington Redskins

With Guice out for the season look for Thompson to regain his role as 3rd down back for the Redskins. AP is still around, but the Eagles run defense is very tough which should mean way more Thompson in this game than Peterson.

DeAndre Washington/Jalen Richard, Oakland Raiders

There really is no reason for the Raiders to push Josh Jacobs to play when his shoulder is not healthy. If he is inactive again look for DeAndre Washington to get the early down carries and for Jalen Richard to be the passing down RB against the toothless Jaguars on Sunday.

Wide Receivers

Russell Gage, Atlanta Falcons

Calvin Ridley is out for the year, so look for Gage to step up and get a bunch of those targets. He plays more in the slot than outside, and he has a very tough matchup against the 49ers this week, but opportunity is everything and he should have Matt Ryan looking his way.

Justin Watson/Breshad Perriman, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Mike Evans is out for the season and one of these two players is going to step up and become the Bucs WR2 across from Chris Godwin. Most people are going to look at Perriman based on his pedigree, but I think Watson is the more talented player. Either way, the Bucs play the Lions this week and Jameis Winston has been cleared making both players good starts.

Marcus Johnson, Indianapolis Colts

If TY Hilton is out again as expected, you can fire up Johnson into your lineup. I like the player, although his matchup against the Saints is not easy. Stash him now for his Week 16 matchup vs. Carolina.

Chris Conley, Jacksonville Jaguars

D.J. Chark will miss this week’s game against Oakland and Conley has shown that he can step into the lineup and make plays. I hate trusting a bad offense such as Jacksonville, but Conley might be the exception.

Tight Ends

David Njoku, Cleveland Browns

Njoku plays the Cardinals this week and we all know that they are the worst team in the NFL at covering the tight end. I expect him to find the end zone.

Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams

Higbee has been a revelation with Gerald Everett out with an injury. If Everett returns, then I am not sure I love Higbee nearly as much, but if Everett continues to miss time, Higbee is a must add this week.

Hayden Hurst, Baltimore Ravens

Ravens starting TE Mark Andrews is not 100% fit and since the game is Thursday night, there are some experts who think that Andrews might not play in the game. If I owned Andrews I would make sure I had Hurst at the ready and available to go into your lineups just in case.
