Big fantasy news coming out of Miami today as the Arizona Cardinals have traded for Miami running back Kenyan Drake.

Fantasy owners have never been happy with the Dolphin's use of Drake. Even with the Alabama alum going to Arizona, his fantasy investors won't really see a huge bump in production. Cardinals running back David Johnson is dealing with an ankle injury and will likely miss Thursday night's meeting with the 49ers.

In trading for Drake, the Cardinals may be signaling that backup running back Chase Edmonds, who was injured yesterday vs. the Saints, may be out for a while.

The newly acquired Drake could very well get the start on Thursday night but he will be going up against the 49ers defense on the road.

Once Johnson is healthy, he will take over the role again and Drake will be a complementary piece in the Cardinals' attack. This role means his fantasy upside will be inconsistent at best.

The big winner in this trade from a fantasy perspective is Miami Dolphins running back Mark Walton. Walton, who has flashed at times this season, moves into the Dolphins primary running back role. Walton profiles as a three-down runner with the ability to catch passes.

Walton will be an RB2 / Flex option in PPR formats for the rest of the season. During the all so important fantasy football weeks of 14,15 and 16, the Dolphins face the Jets, Giants, and Bengals. Walton will have the opportunity to really give his fantasy owners a boost when the money is on the line. If Walton is on your waiver wire he is a must-add.
