Fulltime Fantasy Sports Sues CBS Interactive

Fulltime Fantasy Sports has filed a complaint against corporate media giant CBS Interactive, accusing CBS of several illegal actions.
Publish date:

Fulltime Fantasy Sports, operator of 20-year veteran-site FFToolbox, and parent company of ScoutFantasy, FFChamps and the Fantasy Football World Championships, sued CBS Interactive for “trademark infringement, false advertising, breach of contract, conversion, unlawful and deceptive practices, and unfair competition,” according to the complaint filed on July 13. The complaint can be found on LegalSportsReport.

"Attempting to steal our name and brand, while extremely flattering, is really not what you would expect from a corporate giant like CBS,” said Fulltime Fantasy Sports Co-Founder Ian Ritchie. “We're just a small business they are trying to bully, and we had to punch back with a lawsuit to protect our many years of hard work and effort with our brand."

Fulltime had a publishing agreement with CBS Interactive, which they terminated earlier this year. However, CBSi has continued operating in a way to purposely fool consumers and hide the fact that they are CBS masquerading as FullTime Fantasy Sports.

In fact, according to Law360, the global media giant “is currently offering five months free for new subscribers, a move Fulltime said is intended to trick customers into signing up just before football season and before they realize they’ve signed up for the wrong site.”

This complaint represents the simple fact that Fulltime Fantasy Sports is refusing to allow the corporate media conglomerate of CBS to get away with alleged illegal activity.

"We can only be pushed so far before having to stand up for ourselves and fight for what rightfully belongs to us," a Fulltime Fantasy Sports spokesperson added.
