SI NBA DFS analyst Stephen Marsella runs through his top NBA daily fantasy plays for Friday.

It is Friday, and the NBA has 11 games on tap tonight starting at 7:00 p.m. EST.

The Droppin Dimes article will go over my favorite plays for the slate. It will have one player at each position with a full write-up, and a few value plays. These are my favorite options. You won't always see the highest-priced players or the most obvious plays. Players listed first at each position are my favorite and a good start to build a lineup around.

NOTES

Hawks/Timberwolves: A 233 total and will run at the second-fastest pace.

Bulls/Hornets: Second-highest total and runs at the fastest pace.

Knicks/Kings: Sneaky late-night game. Good pace and matchup for the Knicks. Randle, Barret, and Payton in good spots. On the other side Fox, Bagley, and Holmes.

If/Then...

  • Pascal Siakam is listed as questionable. If he sits out, Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, and Chris Boucher get a nice bump. Also, Aaron Baynes becomes viable. Update: Lowry is now listed as questionable. If he or Siakim sits, then Fred VanVleet, Norman Powell, and Boucher are excellent plays.
  • Tyler Herro is listed as questionable again. If he sits out, then Kendrick Nunn and Goran Dragic are good options.

All pricing and fantasy points are for Draftkings, but plays can be used for all sites.

POINT GUARDS

Terry Rozier, Charlotte Hornets ($6,700)

The Bulls and Hornets game is one of my favorites on the night. It will be fast-paced and high scoring. I like to target Rozier in these types of games. He plays well in faster-paced games. This is a plus matchup as well, with the Bulls allowing the second-most fantasy points to opposing point guards. Rozier is projected to play around 35 minutes tonight and is averaging 1.05 fantasy points per minute. I have him projected at 37.2 fantasy points with a ceiling of 46.6 in my model. I expect him to come closer to his ceiling. DeVonte Graham is in a similar spot, and he can be considered as well.

Also consider: Trae Young, Kyrie Irving

VALUE: Derrick Rose, TJ McConnell, Jordan McLaughlin

If Lowry sits, Fred VanVleet is in play.

SHOOTING GUARDS

Victor Oladipo, Houston Rockets ($8,000)

Oladipo has played well as a Rocket, finally getting to show what he can do on the court. He has taken over 20 shots in the last three games and added more peripheral stats, especially in the assist category. The Rockets are still without John Wall and now Christian Wood. This puts Dipo as the main option. A plus matchup tonight against the Pistons tonight. I have him projected for 43.7 fantasy points with a ceiling of 54.6.

Also consider: Jaylen Brown, Sixers have been getting crushed by guards, Malik Beasley, Eric Gordon

VALUE: Cam Reddish(check status), Devin Vassell, Lou Williams

SMALL FORWARDS

RJ Barrett, New York Knicks ($6,800)

On a larger slate-like tonight, Barrett will easily get overlooked. He has been very consistent on the year averaging 34.1 fantasy points. Over the past three games, he has hit 42, 42, and 38 and averaged around 34 minutes. He is averaging 37 minutes on the season and should play high 30s tonight against the Kings. I am expecting this game to stay close. This is a very good matchup for the Knicks as the Kings are dead last defensively. They also run at a much faster pace. I have Barrett projected for 36.7 fantasy points with a ceiling of 46.1.

Also consider: Gordon Hayward has upside in this matchup, close second to Barrett. Otto Porter

VALUE: Jeremy Lamb is back and will dominate the second unit. Jae'Sean Tate, Taurean Prince.

POWER FORWARDS

Lauri Markkanen, Chicago Bulls ($6,600)

Since returning to the floor, Markkanen has played an average of 34 minutes and 37 fantasy points. The Bulls will be without Wendell Carter, and Markkanen should see a few additional minutes. This will be a fast-paced game, which will help his upside with a few more rebounds and shot attempts—a very good matchup against the Hornets, who have allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing power forwards.

Also consider: Julius Randle, Marvin Bagley, Daniel Thies

VALUE: Isaiah Roby, Jaden McDaniels. Darius Bazley

CENTERS

DeMarcus Cousins, Houston Rockets ($4,400)

The Rockets have already ruled out Christian Wood, and this opens up a starting spot for Cousins. This is an excellent spot for the Rockets big man as they play the Pistons tonight. On the season, the Pistons have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing centers. He is projected to play around 25-30 minutes and is averaging 1.45 fantasy points per minute. My model has him projected as the best value. That being said, Cousins has a hot temper and has been ejected a few times this year. He has some risk, but the reward should be worth it. I have him projected for 40.1 fantasy points on my model tonight.

Also consider: Clint Capela's last three games (39,39,37 minutes and 54, 54, 76 fantasy points). He gets the best matchup on the board at center tonight. Joel Embiid, Naz Reid.

VALUE: Daniel Gafford, Nerlens Noel.

Final note

The players listed first at each position are my favorite options. These five players leave $5,833 left for the remaking lineup. Any of these options can be switched out for other players listed or your favorite players.
