NBA DFS Plays & Values: Droppin Dimes for Monday, March 1
Tonight brings a seven-game slate starting at 7:00 p.m. ET. Droppin Dimes will go over my favorite plays for the slate. It will have one player at each position with a full write-up and a few value plays. These are my favorite options. You won't always see the highest-priced players or the most obvious plays. Players listed first at each position are my favorite and a good start to build a lineup around.
(Note: All pricing and fantasy points are based on DraftKings but can be used for all sites.)
If-then situations: If a player sits out, then the player listed after is the play.
- Joel Embiid: Dwight Howard/Tony Bradley, Ben Simmons
- Gordon Hayward/Cody Zeller: PJ Washington, Malik Monk
- Malcolm Brogdon: TJ McConnell, Jeremy Lamb
POINT GUARDS
Damian Lillard, Portland Trail Blazers ($10,400)
Lillard and Luka Doncic are close in price tonight with a $300 difference. They both have excellent matchups, with the Blazers playing against the Hornets, ranked 21st over the last 15 days. The Mavericks play against the Orlando Magic, one of the worst teams over the past 15 days. They rank 29th over in defense. I listed Lillard as the option, but both rank well on my model tonight as they are both in the top ten. Doncic rates second overall on my model, right behind Nikola Jokic. He gets the second-best matchup for points guards tonight, with the Magic ranking 29th. Lillard is not far behind. They both come in at close to a six return on value tonight. I will have Donic headlining one lineup with Lillard in the other.
Also consider: Mike Conley, TJ McConnel (If Brogdon sits out)
SHOOTING GUARDS
Monte Morris, Denver Nuggets ($4,900)
The Nuggets will most likely be without Facundo Campazzo, who is listed as doubtful. He played around 28-33 minutes per night, and some of these minutes would go to Morris. This would secure Morris's minutes and give him around 32-35 minutes in a nice matchup against the Bulls tonight.

VALUE: Jeremy Lamb
SMALL FORWARDS
Miles Bridges, Charlotte Hornets ($4,800)
The Hornets were without Gordon Hayward, DeVonte Graham, and Cody Zeller last game. Bridges played 33 minutes and put up 32 fantasy points in a plus matchup. These players will most likely be out again, which would allow Bridges to see similar minutes. He gets another plus matchup against the Blazers. I have him projected for 27.7 fantasy points which bring him close to six times value.

VALUE: Will Barton, Dylan Windler
POWER FORWARDS
Al-Farouq Aminu, Orlando Magic ($3,800)
Aminu has started the last four games and averaged around 21 minutes in that timeframe. He does a little bit of everything: points, rebounds, assists, and sometimes defensive stats. The price provides some salary relief, and he gets an excellent matchup tonight. The Magic play against the Mavericks, who rank 27th overall defensively (worst on the slate). This should give Aminu some additional stats to get him over the 19 fantasy points mark, which is his value.

VALUE: Derrick Jones Jr, Taurean Prince
CENTERS
Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets/Jarrett Allen, Cleveland Cavaliers ($10,800)/($8,500)
Listing my two favorite pay-up options for tonight. Nikola Jokic rates as the number one player on my model. He plays against the Chicago Bulls, who have struggled against Bigs men this year. They rank 25th against opposing centers. He is coming off a 61 fantasy point performance where he dropped a triple-double. Allen has stepped into the starting role as of late and has been smashing. This drove his price up from the mid 5k range to now $8,500. Over the last five games, Allen is averaging just shy of 50 fantasy points. These two players are both in good spots tonight.

VALUE: Justin Patton (Started last game and is a nice salary saving option), JaVale McGee
