NHL DFS: Point Shot - 2/27

Key Skaters

John Tavares (TOR)

  • In a great matchup (Florida has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game to centers over the past four weeks), Tavares gets the edge for me over AM34 mainly because of the great salary difference.
  • At $6,300 vs $8,000, JT comes in at a great value with three goals in his last two games and great success of late against the Panthers lighting the lamp nine times in his last six games against them.

Eric Staal (MIN)

  • It's no secret that Detroit is a brutal team and with Staal being very underpriced considering this matchup, don't expect him and his teammates to be sneaky tonight.
  • He may just have three points in his last six games, but he's getting the opportunities centering the top line and skating on the top power-play unit.
  • Detroit has allowed four or more goals in six of their last seven games and I'd be hard-pressed to assume that they're going to play a solid defensive game tonight.

Nikita Kucherov (TB)

  • In what has been a down year for Kuch's standards, he does have points in each of his last five games and has a matchup against one of the league's friendliest defensive units tonight.
  • With the trade deadline passed and goalie Robin Lehner goen, a lot of Chicago's defensive shortcomings will be exposed moving forward. Lehner did a tremendous job of bailing them out to this point, something that I don't expect Crawford to do as good a job of.
