Scouting the NHL DFS: Mon, 11/27

Five games in the NHL tonight, all appear good for offensive production. Expect a high scoring night.

Jets... Winnipeg and Minnesota to me is a better game to stack and target than Philadelphia @ Pittsburgh. The Philly-Pitt game has a bigger total so it will draw more ownership, but the Wild will be rolling out Alex Stalock again and have been playing in some high scoring games lately, where as on the Pitt/Flyer game the Flyers will be focused on trying to stop Crosby's line and I think we see a lower scoring game there. I want all the Scheifele-Wheeler I can get from the Jets tonight and don't mind Nino Neiderreiter on the other side.

Blackhawks ... Throughout the course of a season in the NHL we often see teams get really streaky. Right now the Ducks continue to reel with injuries and the Blackhawks look like they're heating back up. Chicago is a little odd to stack because Toews/Kane their two best players are split at full strength and often on the PP -- but throughout the course of the game will get shifted together. To get exposure across, pair them both with Duncan Keith as the third man in the stack. This is a stack if you expect Chicago to have a huge game offensively from both their top two lines.

Devils ... I tend to like the safe and predictable stacks. Words that usually arent uttered with the New Jersey Devils over the last few seasons. But here we are, and the Devils are one of the safer and more predictable stacks going these days. Taylor Hall is on fire and the pace at which the Panthers are giving up shots make his line a really nice play tonight at home. Hischier-Hall-Bratt

CHALK (I am fading, you can decide for yourself)

Penguins ... Since Evgeni Malkin has gone out, Sidney Crosby has increased his offensive production with 3 goals and 3 assists over his last three games. That type of Production makes it worth paying up for him and line-mates Connor Sheary/Patrick Hornqvist tonight in large field tournaments. The Flyers can be prone to bad hockey at times and since Pittsburgh is at home they'll get the final line change allowing them to avoid the Couturier line as much as possible.

Other One offs and combo's

  • Vincent Trocheck (Panthers)
  • Sean Couturier, Jake Voracek & Ivan Provorov (Flyers)
  • Cam Atkinson & Zach Werenski (Blue Jackets)
  • Nino Niederreiter & Jared Spurgeon (Wild)
  • Patrik Laine (Jets)
  • Jonathan Toews & Brandon Saad (Blackhawks)

Corey Crawford ... Most likely home goalie to win tonight that won't cost you an arm and a leg (especially on FD). Good receipe for a solid score here and I expect the Blackhawks to roll. He's my #1 guy tonight.

Sergei Bobrovsky / Carey Price ... Price is going to draw a ton of ownership again because he's underpriced. (forgive the pun). I personally want the other side with Sergei Bobrovsky because Columbus is the better team and Bobrovsky is just as good as Price consider the team in front of him. So this is a spot where if you want a safe/chalk play go Price. If you want the higher upside at the higher cost, go Bobrovsky

LINE LOCK OF THE NIGHT: Mark Scheifele - Blake Wheeler - Kyle Connor (Jets)

FAVORITE ONE OFF STUD WINGER: Patrick Kane (Blackhawks)

FAVORITE DEFENSEMAN: Zach Werenski (Blue Jackets)
