The NHL trade deadline today and it is expected to be a busy one. There's only five games tonight so hopefully no major scratches or line changes due to trades, however it is something to keep an eye on. Yesterday we saw two teams playing make a deal and the two main guys in the deal were actually playing for their new team by the evening. That's highly unlikely today, but expect plenty of scratches or line changes if there are deals.

Of the teams playing today the ones I would monitor the most include, Tampa Bay, Washington, Philadelphia, Montreal (Sellers) and Vegas

STACKS

Colorado Avalanche ... MacKinnon, Rantanen, Landeskog

Top line no doubt for me tonight. MacKinnon's numbers at home this year are among the best in the league and Colorado draws Vancouver on a B2B trip from Arizona last night. Give me all the Avs tonight.

Tampa Bay Lightning ... Point, Kucherov, Killorn

I like a ton for Tampa tonight. Specifically Kucherov here so that is the line that I would try to stack with Hedman or the Goalie. Don't ignore Stamkos as well who you can get with Namestnikov and Callaghan and save money for a second stack.

OTHERS I LIKE ...

Philadelphia Flyers ... Couturier, Girioux, Konecny, Ghost

Columbus Blue Jackets ... Dubois, Panarin, Jones

FORWARD RANKINGS

  1. Nathan MacKinnon & Mikko Rantanen (COL)
  2. Brayden Point & Nikita Kucherov (TB)
  3. Sean Couturier & Claude Girioux (PHI) ... The Flyers appear to be under the radar tonight. They've been playing great (everyone in Philly is winning since
  4. Pierre-Luc Dubois & Artemi Panarin (CLB)
  5. Anze Kopitar & Dustin Brown (LA)

VALUE PLAYS

  • Jeff Carter (LA) ... Jeff Carter is only 3700 on DK. Hello? Sign. Me. Up.
  • Oliver Bjorkstrand (CLB)
  • Andrei Burakovsky (WAS) ... Not on the top two lines but skating fantastic of late and is red hot.
  • TJ Oshie (WAS) ... I am convinced he is playing through an injury and will have off-season surgery. That said, this is a good spot for him and the Caps 2nd/3rd line guys.
  • Ryan Callaghan (TB) - 2900 guy on DK who is skating with Stamkos. Expect ownership through the roof again today.

DEFENSE-MEN RANKINGS

  1. Victor Hedman (TB)
  2. Shayne Gosthisbehere (PHI)
  3. Drew Doughty (LA)
  4. Seth Jones (CLB)
  5. Tyson Barrie (COL)

GOALIES

Andrei Vasilevskiy (TB) ... I don't mind the matchup against Toronto going on the road without Matthews. Tampa is solid at home and I'll pay up for Vasilevskiy.

Varlamov/Bernier (COL) ... TBD on who is in goal as of now for the Avalanche tonight. Pair them with the MacKinnon stack if you go here.

Jonathan Quick (LA) ... I like the Kings to beat the mighty Golden Knights today. With Jeff Carter back in the lineup the Kings look set to go on a bit of a run here and Quick should be a solid play to get the late night win today.

LINE LOCK OF THE NIGHT: MacKinnon - Rantanen - Landeskog (Colorado Avalanche)

ONE OFF STUD WINGER: Claude Girioux (Philadelphia Flyers)

ONE OFF VALUE WINGER: Ryan Callaghan (Tampa Bay Lightning) and Jeff Carter (LA Kings)

TOP DEFENSEMAN: Viktor Hedman (Tampa Bay Lightning)
