Back in action tonight with eight game on the NHL DFS Slate. Going forward for the larger slates (ones over 4 games usually) we will provide a cheat sheet with the plays who can be considered from each team going, along with favorite one offs and value plays. This helps give a larger player pool and also helps with fill in picks...

This write up will remain focused on tournaments with the stacks of the night and goalie recommendations (aka... Tilt recommendations).

FAVORITE STACKS

FLYERS .... Flyers at home vs the Coyotes! They will dominate the Coyotes tonight. Couturier-Voracek-Girioux have been scoring multiple goals lately and would be my high $ stack to take from the Flyers tonight.

ISLANDERS .... John Tavares, Josh Bailey, Anders Lee and Nick Leddy (D) are the FOUR (Yes, FOUR) guys I am considering tonight from the Islanders. You shouldn't be shocked because it's JT or bust with the Islanders for stacks but tonight I really expect him to get his linemates involved and Nick Leddy is a fantastic Def2 play tonight on both sites -- especially in cash games.

PANTHERS .... Aleksander Barkov, Evgenii Dadonov and Jonathan Huberdeau have been playing really well and should get into a nice up and down game tonight with Tampa. The main fear here is that Barkov will take a defensive stopper role matching against Stamkos and so you can consider splitting the Florida exposure to get Dadanov (who is grossly underpriced still) and Trocheck together to still get Florida exposure from this great matchup.

CANUCKS (VALUE).... Looking for some value? Give me the Canucks getting a pace boost against Dallas at home. The entire Canucks team is cheap (because they're not sexy) and Horvat+Baertschi is my mini combo to steal from this game. Consider Del Zotto on the power play at defense.

MY FADES (For Stacks)

Lightning, Stars, Blue Jackets

GOALIES

Jaroslav Halak (FD: $7700, DK: $7200) ... Halak is confirmed as the starter tonight for the Islanders. He's drawing a Golden Knights team that has inflated their stats early on by benefiting from a home friendly schedule. They're not expected to be a good team this year and have been playing off the home crowd energy. The Islanders should destroy them tonight in an up-tempo game and Halak is in a great spot to see 30+ shots to offset any goals he lets in. He's my top play in all formats toniht.

Sergei Bobrovsky (FD: $9400, DK: $7800) ... Bobrovsky is arguably the "Best" goalie on the slate tonight. You're payng extra for him because of that and there's too much firepower on Boston for me to justify spending an exta 1700 for S-Bob. However, at home he's always a solid safe play to get you a win.

Brian Elliottt (FD: $7400, DK: $8200) ... Like Halak, Elliott draws a favorable H2H matchup tonight as the Coyotes are rolling out Scott Wedgewood in goal. The Vegas total has jumped on this game and it's all on the Flyers side. This could get ugly for the Coyotes... Quickly. He's in play more on FD because of the price discount there.

Craig Anderson (FD: $8100, DK: $7800) ... Montreal as not been playing well and it's not likely that they're gonna turn things around quickly. Anderson would be a much better cash game play for me tonight than Bobrovsky because of the huge salary relief, he is #2 for cash behind Halak for me tonight.

TOP INDIVIDUAL PLAYS

(3-5 guys I like at each spot the most and am finding I am looking to play the most.... Sometimes there are one offs on here not on the cheat sheet as these are more tournament based)

  • Alex Barkov
  • Sean Couturier

WINGS

  • Anders Lee
  • Vlad Tarasenko - Nice contrarian one off tonight
  • Sven Baertschi

  • Boone Jenner
  • Alex Radulov

DEFENSE

  • Brent Burns - It's Brent Burns night again.
  • Ivan Provorov
  • Aaron ekblad
  • Erik Karlsson
