The Oakland Athletics have two players that offer tremendous value for fantasy baseball drafts.

With 97 wins in 2019 the Athletics are certainly a team with a roster fantasy baseball players should invest in. But when it comes to offering value based on Average Draft Position, too often players on good teams are overbought. That’s not the case with starting pitcher Sean Manaea or outfielder Ramon Laureano. In fact, Sports Illustrated’s Shawn Childs “expects growth” for Manaea and lists him as one of his sleepers and calls Laureano a breakout player for 2020.

Childs was joined by John Hickey of InsideTheAthletics to discuss the A’s roster and how fantasy baseball players should go about drafting players from the Oakland Roster.

Read the transcript from their conversation:

Corey Parson: Hey, what's up itts Corey Parson, the fantasy executive here at SI.com. Major League Baseball could be returning soon. That means fantasy baseball could be returning soon. Joining me to break down the Oakland Athletics are SI's Fantasy and gaming analyst Shawn Childs, and A's Insider, John Hickey. John, let me start with you. What do you think of Ramon Laureano for this season?

John Hickey:  I like him a lot. Getting him on the field and keeping him on the field was a bit of a problem last year. But he's a guy with power. He's got speed. He bats at the top of the lineup. There are a lot of things to like about him. He runs. He runs well. And, you know, it's hard to say quantitatively, but his arm is about as good as anybody. So offensively, defensively, he's really a complete package.

Corey Parson: Shawn let me come in you. What about Sean Manaea, your namesake?

Shawn Childs: Manaea is a guy that got injured with a left shoulder injury in 2018 didn't make his debut into the majors till July. In the minors he started off a little slow, start to hit his stride. But in September, he was electric. For over the month of September, he had 4-0, 1.20 ERA, 30 KS in 29 innings. His fastball came in a little shorter than his in the past. But a slider and change up really played up. He's a guy that has, you know, hasn't made 30 starts in his career, but he has an upside arm with, you know, command in a rising strikeout rate. So he's a guy that's, you know, pretty attractive, kind of a fourth S.P. in twelve team leagues maybe. So he's he's a guy that I would like to own this year in a shortened season. Probably help him with the innings.

Corey Parson: All right. Thanks a lot, Sean. Thanks a lot, John. All the latest from the majors. Keep it locked right here at SI.com.
