Miami suspends LB Terry indefinitely after drug charge
Miami linebacker Gabe Terry was suspended indefinitely by the Hurricanes on Friday, after he was arrested and charged with possessing slightly less than one ounce of marijuana.
Miami-Dade County officials said Terry was being held on $5,000 bond on the possession charge, as well as on $1,000 bond for a charge of resisting arrest without violence. In Florida, possessing more than 20 grams of marijuana can be classified as a felon. Terry was allegedly found with 26.8 grams.
Terry appeared in seven games for the Hurricanes last year, both as a linebacker and a special-teams player. He made five tackles and blocked a punt.
Terry was expected to make a court appearance Saturday.
