OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) Jarrod Lyle shot a 3-under 68 on Saturday in the Web.com Tour's Midwest Classic, leaving the Australian 11 strokes behind Zack Sucher in his first U.S. event since his second bout with leukemia

The 32-year-old Lyle was tied for 23rd at 9-under 204 at Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate. He eagled the par-4 18th for a back-nine 35. When Lyle returns to the PGA Tour for the start of the season in October, he will have 20 events to earn $283,825 and reach the equivalent of No. 125 on the money list in 2012, the year he suffered a recurrence.

Sucher shot a 64 to reach 20 under. He opened with rounds of 66 and 63.

Former Kansas State player Aaron Watkins was second at 17 under after a 64.
