Kirk out, Streelman in British Open

ST. ANDREWS, Scotland (AP) Chris Kirk has withdrawn from next week's British Open at St. Andrews after breaking his hand, and been replaced in the field by fellow American Kevin Streelman.

The R&A, which organizes the tournament, made the announcement on Saturday.

The 80th-ranked Streelman tied for 54th and 79th in the last two British Opens.

The British Open starts Thursday.
