Remember when Tiger Woods mocked Phil Mickelson's claim that he had won the PGA Tour's inaugural Player Impact Program? Perhaps Mickelson took that personally and factored into his decision to sign a reported $200 million deal with LIV Golf. Either way, it seems Woods is perfectly content with his current financial situtation as Greg Norman confirmed this week that the 15-time major winner passed on an offer north of $700 Million.
While LIV Golf is off this week, their legal team is hard at work, as 11 of its players have filed a lawsuit against the PGA Tour for alleged antitrust violations while seeking an injunction that would allow Talor Gooch, Matt Jones and Hudson Swafford into the FedEx Cup playoffs. Earlier this year, Gooch told PGA Tour players 'Your Welcome' with a GIF on Twitter when the PGA Tour announced increased purses in 2023.
The U.S. Women's Amateur is just around the corner but will be lacking some of the premier players, including World No. 1 Rose Zhang. In total, 19 of the top 25 ranked players will be absent creating a wide-open feel at Chambers Bay.
