Shumpert chooses Ga. Tech

Iman Shumpert, rated the No. 19 senior recruit by RISE, chose Georgia Tech over North Carolina and Marquette at a press conference Thursday night that was televised live in his hometown Chicago.

He averaged 17 points per game last year and was named to the Chicago Sun-Times All-Area team.

Shumpert's stock really exploded following the high school season, when he had a monster spring and summer. A great performance at the LeBron James Skills Academy made him one of the most sought-after recruits in the country.

His commitment is a coup for the Yellow Jackets, who were able to go head to head with ACC foe North Carolina and come out on top.
