As expected, the state playoffs sent some teams home, but for smaller schools, the postseason is often much easier than the in-season tournaments and games against elite opposition.

Heritage Christian of Indiana and Hope of Chicago, for example, will only lose if there's a massive upset, while teams like DeSoto of Texas, Oak Ridge of Tennessee and Hinsdale Central of Illinois will have to battle their way to a state crown in the large school divisions.

The best matchup could come in California's Division III (schools with an enrollment of 1,000-1,500), where No. 1 Sacred Heart Cathedral and No. 5 St. Mary's are expected to collide in the Northern California championships. Those who want to see it will have to get up early: It's scheduled for 9 a.m. local time on March 8 at Arco Arena in Sacramento.
