SI.com girls' Top 25

The dominos are falling as state champions are crowned, but the top five remain the same -- for now.

Barring an upset on Thursday, top-ranked Sacred Heart Cathedral and No. 5 St. Mary's of Stockton will face off at 6 p.m. at Arco Arena on Saturday in the Northern California Division III championship. The winner not only stays in the top five, it also advances to the state championship game the following week.

That doesn't mean a matchup with Poly (Long Beach, Calif.). The Jackrabbits are a Division I school (the largest enrollment classification) and Sacred Heart Cathedral and St. Mary's have less than half as many students, so they won't meet. In fact, the California title games will be anticlimactic, for the toughest competition in Division I is in Southern California, and in Division III, in Northern California.
