Top performers, rankings and this week's schedule for Arkansas 8-man prep football

The Club division has reached the final week of the regular season, while the Sanctioned division still has a few weeks remaining as teams look to claim their playoff spots. Last week featured a high-scoring finish as well as an exciting ending in a No. 1-vs.-No. 2 showdown, while this week brings an undefeated No. 1-vs.-No. 2 matchup in the Sanctioned division.

TOP PERFORMERS

Nick Brey, Fountain Lake

The senior compiled 14 total tackles (7 solo) in Fountain Lake’s 30-27 loss to Mountain View.

Wyatt Buchanan, Izard County

The sophomore completed 3-of-3 passes for 130 yards and 3 touchdowns in Izard County’s 63-0 win over KIPP Delta.

Keelan Dobbins, Mountain Pine

The senior rushed 9 times for 193 yards and 2 touchdowns in Mountain Pine’s 48-24 win over Parkers Chapel.

Evan East, Fountain Lake

The senior hauled in 10 passes for 125 yards and a score in Fountain Lake’s 30-27 loss to Mountain View. East also compiled 12 total tackles and batted down a pass on defense.

Destyn Fields, Fountain Lake

The sophomore completed 18-of-26 passes for 232 yards and 2 touchdowns in Fountain Lake’s 30-27 loss to Mountain View.

Anthony Gehrig, Subiaco Academy

The junior compiled 114 all-purpose yards and a touchdown in Subiaco’s 60-8 win over Rose Bud. Defensively, Gehrig had three total tackles and intercepted two passes.

Landon Goins, Mountain View

The senior compiled 18 total tackles (15 solo) in Mountain View’s 30-27 win over Fountain Lake.

Kenner Gray, Mountain View

The senior hauled in a touchdown and recovered the onside kick that sealed the game in Mountain View’s 30-27 win over Fountain Lake. Defensively, Gray had 11 total tackles (5 solo).

Garrett Hardin, Genoa Central

The senior rushed 8 times for 76 yards and had four total touchdowns (2 passing, 2 rushing) in Genoa Central’s 38-14 win over Marshall.

Aiden Jones, Cedar Ridge

The sophomore rushed 41 times for 158 yards and 5 touchdowns in Cedar Ridge’s 74-72 win over Cutter-Morning Star. He also completed 11-of-18 passes for 77 yards and 4 touchdowns and had three tackles on defense.

Brody Koch, Subiaco Academy

The junior carried 12 times for 96 yards and 2 touchdowns in Subiaco’s 60-8 win over Rose Bud. He also had 16 total tackles (1 for loss) and a sack defensively.

Germyren McHenry, Strong

The sophomore rushed for 138 yards and 3 touchdowns in Strong’s 42-0 win over Hermitage.

Kaiden McHenry, Strong

The sophomore rushed for 167 yards and 3 touchdowns in Strong’s 42-0 win over Hermitage

Isaiah Miles, Mountain Pine

The senior hauled in 7 catches for 81 yards and 2 touchdowns in Mountain Pine’s 48-24 win over Parkers Chapel.

Zach LaRose, Genoa Central

The sophomore compiled 11 total tackles (7 solo) and snagged an interception in Genoa Central’s 38-14 win over Marshall.

Peyton Mills, Cutter-Morning Star

The sophomore completed 26-of-37 passes for 372 yards and 8 touchdowns in Cutter-Morning Star’s 74-72 loss to Cedar Ridge. He also rushed 7 times for 33 yards and a score.

Abe Rose, Fountain Lake

The senior compiled 191 yards of total offense (21 passing, 70 rushing, 100 receiving) and 2 touchdowns in Fountain Lake’s 30-27 loss to Mountain View.

Drew Shelton, Mountain View

The junior carried 22 times for 115 yards and 3 touchdowns in Mountain View’s 30-27 win over Fountain Lake. He also 1-of-2 passing for 18 yards.

Jock Simpson, Cutter-Morning Star

The junior hauled in 6 passes for 128 yards and 2 touchdowns in Cutter-Morning Star’s 74-72 loss to Cedar Ridge. Simpson also had one rush for 39 yards.

Jeremiah Smith, Cutter-Morning Star

The senior caught 8 passes for 138 yards and 3 touchdowns in Cutter-Morning Star’ 74-72 loss to Cedar Ridge.

Trampas Stubbs, Mountain View

The senior ran 24 times for 174 yards and completed a six-yard pass for a touchdown in Mountain View’s 30-27 win over Fountain Lake. He also had ten total tackles on defense.

TJ Tipton, Spring Hill

The junior had 16 carries for 156 yds and 2 touchdowns in Spring Hill’s 50-8 win over Marvell-Elaine.

Giovanni Vargas, Subiaco Academy

The senior compiled 150 total offensive yards (120 rushing) and two touchdowns in Subaico’s 60-8 win over Rose Bud. He also had ten total tackles defensively.

Jonah Wilburn, Mountain Pine

The junior completed 11-of-21 passes for 190 yards and 4 touchdowns in Mountain Pine’s 48-24 win over Parkers Chapel.

SCORES AND RANKINGS

8-Man Sanctioned Rankings

No. 1 Mountain Pine (7-0)

The Red Devils took down Parkers Chapel 48-24, their second win over the Trojans this season, led by another great performance by “The Triplets” Keelan Dobbins, Isaiah Miles, and Jonah Wilburn.

No. 2 Woodlawn (5-0)

The Bears’ game was forfeited by Dermott.

No. 3 Spring Hill (7-1)

After a close loss to top-ranked Mountain Pine the Bears rebounded big, throttling Marvell-Elaine 50-8.

No. 4 Izard County (4-2)

ICC moves up a spot in the Top 5 following a 63-0 victory over KIPP Delta and continue to look solid in the program’s first season.

No. 5 Rector (3-3)

 The Cougars move back into the Top 5 now on a three-game win streak after a big 38-34 victory over Brinkley on the road.

8-Man Club Rankings

No. 1 Mountain View (7-0)

The Yellowjackets played to their strengths putting up another great game on the ground to inch past No. 2 Fountain Lake at home.

No. 2 Fountain Lake (5-2)

The Cobras came up just short 30-27 on the road against top-ranked Mountain View, but still expect to be a dangerous squad as the playoffs loom following their regular season finale with Cutter-Morning Star.

No. 3 Subiaco Academy (4-3)

Coming off a close loss to Fountain Lake, the Trojans’ rushing attack was unstoppable as they gashed Rose Bud for 485 yards and 6 touchdowns in a 60-8 victory.

No. 4 Genoa Central (5-2)

After losing two-straight, the Dragons are back on a two-game win streak following a 38-14 win over Marshall on the road last Friday.

No. 5 Cedar Ridge (3-3)

They may have had to sweat it out, but the Timberwolves survived a 74-72 basketball-esk finish against Cutter-Morning Star to keep their playoff hopes alive and remain in the Top 5.
