Jayden Martinez scored a game-high 22 points, but it was senior guard Cooper Dewitt who hit the contested 3 at the buzzer to lift Chiawana over Ferris, 67-64, on Wednesday night at Chiawana High School.

Landyn Cantu had 14 points and six boards and Seth Schmidt added 10 points for Chiawana. McCoy Spink had a 20 points and Kobe Smith scored 14 points for the Saxons.

The win puts the Riverhawks (20-1, 15-1 MCC) in a 4A District 8 semifinal matchup against Gonzaga Prep (19-2, 13-1 GSL), the tournament 3-seed, on Saturday.

Dewitt, who was 2 of 4 from 3-point range, also his a 3-pointer in the final seconds to beat Walla Walla on the road.
