BATTLE GROUND — Mason Hill hit six 3s and totalled 28 points and Tanner Toolson added 17 as top-seeded Union held off 8-seed Gonzaga Prep in a 4A regional boys basketball game at Battle Ground High School on Saturday afternoon.

Prep senior Liam Lloyd scored a game-high 34 points for Gonzaga Prep, which will play a first round state game on Wednesday at the Tacoma Dome. Union () earns a first round bye with the win and will play next in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
