While high schools and high school sports across Washington are closed for the school year, the Scorebook Live Today podcast has ramped things up.

Each weekday, analyst Dan Dickau is interviewing a special guest from across the sports and entertainment spectrum. Dickau hopes to both entertain and provide perspective to understand how uniquely sports can prepare one for a wide array of things.

On Thursday, Washington State's all-time leading 3-point shooter and former Curtis High School standout DaVonte Lacy joins. Lacy helped Curtis reach the 4A state title against Gonzaga Prep in 2011 under head coach Tim Kelly and went on to lead the Cougars in scoring for several seasons. He extended his overseas professional career by signing with the dutch team Donar Groingen in early May.

Lacy shares his most memorable story about Curtis coach Tim Kelly, tips to high school athletes navigating the recruiting process and compares notes with Dickau on what overseas pro ball looks like.
