Morse running back Byron Cardwell commits to Oregon Ducks football

Class of 2021 Morse running back Byron Cardwell announced his commitment to the University of Oregon on Monday afternoon.

Class of 2021 Morse running back Byron Cardwell announced his commitment to the University of Oregon on Monday afternoon. He chose the Ducks over offers from Auburn, California, and Texas A&M.

Cardwell rushed for just under 2,000 yards over the past two seasons at St. Augustine High School and scored 34 rushing touchdowns during that time. He transferred to Morse High School for his senior season.

247Sports.com ranks Cardwell as California's top running back prospect in the class of 2021. He joins Royce Freeman of Imperial High School and CJ Verdell of Mater Dei Catholic High School as running backs from San Diego to choose the Ducks over the past seven years.
