SAN DIEGO SECTION TOP 10 BASEBALL RANKINGS

1. La Costa Canyon (24-11)

The Mavericks lost to Madison in the first round of the Open Division playoffs before winning five straight to capture the championship. They came from behind to beat Granite Hills in the championship game, 10-3 in 8 innings. They fell to eventual champion Huntington Beach in the first round of the Division 1 regional playoffs.

2. Granite Hills (24-7)

The Eagles cruised to the Open Division championship game and led La Costa Canyon, 3-2, before the Mavericks scored eight straight runs. The Eagles lost in the first round of the regional playoffs against JSerra.

3. Torrey Pines (23-12)

The Falcons lost to La Costa Canyon in the semifinals of the Open Division playoffs. They then won three straight in the Division 2 regional playoffs, beating Etiwanda 19-8 in Saturday's championship game.

4. Rancho Bernardo (21-13)

Rancho Bernardo fought back from a first round loss against Santana before falling to Granite Hills in the Open Division semifinals. They lost to Torrey Pines in the second round of the regional playoffs, 1-0.

5. Madison (21-10)

Madison beat La Costa Canyon in the first round of the Open Division playoffs, 11-9, but then lost two straight, losing to Torrey Pines and La Costa Canyon.

6. Santana (18-11)

The Sultans beat Rancho Bernardo in the first round of the Open Division playoffs, then lost to Granite Hills and Rancho Bernardo to end their season.

7. Eastlake (22-11)

The Titans took down Grossmont 7-6 in 11 innings to capture the Division 1 championship. They defeated La Sierra 9-1 in round one of the Division 3 playoffs before being eliminated by Newport Harbor.

8. Canyon Crest (24-8)

The Ravens cruised to the Division 2 championship game. Senior ace Sam Garewal tossed a one-hitter in the championship game, striking out 11 in a 2-0 win against No. 10 Montgomery.

9. Grossmont (16-19-1)

Grossmont's offense carried them throughout the playoffs beginning with a 6-5 win over Sage Creek in the Division 1 play-in game. They fell to Eastlake 7-6 in 11 innings in the championship game. They won their opening game in the Division 3 regional playoffs before losing at Oaks Christian in round two.

10. Montgomery (22-8)

The Aztecs reached the Division 2 championship game but were shutdown by Sam Garewal, fallint to No. 8 Canyon Crest, 2-0.
