Versatile guard puts up massive numbers in two wins then earns big numbers on voting front to earn the weekly award

Money Williams earned his nickname from in two big wins from the week of Jan. 23-28. 

The senior basketball guard from Oakland High combined to score 52 points on 20 of 29 shooting in wins over McClymonds (75-28) and Skyline (75-29). He also combined to contribute 10 rebounds and 11 steals.

He was definitely 'money,' on the court. 

For it, he was added to the SBLive Performance list for top players in Northern California for the week. 

Once put to a vote, Williams won going away to earn the SBLive Northern California Athlete of the Week. Williams accumulated 70.5 percent of the vote to win easily.

Here were the other athletes who were nominated for the week of Jan. 23-28: 

Courtney Anderson Jr. the Dublin High standout and Colorado signee, led the Gaels to three East Bay Athletic League wins, combining for 64 points in victories over San Ramon Valley, Amador Valley and Granada.

Joseph Bangalan, a senior at Piedmont Hills-San Jose, made nine 3-pointers and scored 32 points in a 81-79 win over Lincoln-San Jose.

Aaiden Burris, a 6-3 junior for St. Bernard’s-Eureka, combined to score 51 points in three games last week, including two wins. He averages 20.2 points per game.

Avary Cain, 6-foot junior guard for St. Joseph-Santa Maria, piled up 52 points with 13 rebounds, eight assists and seven steals in wins over Cabrillo (72-25) and Orcutt Academy (54-45).

Ethan Chau, a junior basketball player at Pacific Bay-Pacifica, combined to score 50 points in two wins, including 32 in a 51-42 victory over Summit Preparatory.

Jake Davis, a 6-9 senior for the Acalanes-Lafayette boys basketball team, combined for 33 points and 20 rebounds in two games last week.

Rex Denker, a senior for Pioneer-San Jose, had a combined 45 points and 12 rebounds in two wins last week.

Snowe De Leon, a basketball player at Mt. Pleasant-San Jose, combined to 83 points over three games and added 40 rebounds.

Karena Eberts, a basketball standout at Miramonte-Orinda, had a career-high 33 points on 14 of 20 shooting with 16 rebounds in a 68-29 win over Clayton Valley Charter. The 6-1 junior added 12 points and 19 rebounds and three blocks in a 45-35 win over rival Campolindo.

Marissa Elizalde, a junior guard for St. Patrick-St. Vincent-Vallejo, led her team to three wins by combining for 66 points, 17 rebounds, 16 assists and 16 steals. The Bruins beat Oakland (81-22), St. Mary’s-Berkeley (52-41) and Benicia (66-39).

Jaden Haire, a 6-6, 217-pound senior for Hanford West, had a combined 48 points and 36 rebounds in wins over Immanuel and Kernan.

Dylan Harms, a 6-4 senior at Bella Vista-Fair Oaks, combined to score 74 points in wins over Oakmont (58-43) and Roseville (84-28). Harms also had 29 rebounds and seven assists in the two wins.

Michael Kellar, a 5-10 sophomore guard at Dunsmuir, combined to score 40 points in two games last week. He averages 19.7 points per game.

Anneka Lupinek, a senior on the San Ramon Valley-Danville girls basketball team (21-3), had 38 points, 12 steals, six rebounds and five assists in a 89-37 win over Foothill-Pleasanton.

Jocelyn Medina, a 5-6 senior guard for Pierce-Arbuckle, had two more monster games with 40 points, including eight 3-pointers, in a 69-27 win over Paradise, and 25 points in a 39-34 win over East Nicolaus. She also combined to pull down 22 rebounds and add 12 assists in the two wins. She averages 29.3 points per game.

Logan Robeson, a 6-3 senior for Campolindo-Moraga, led his team to three wins last week by combining for 49 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists and 10 steals.

Ronnie Roche, a 5-10 junior for Kings Christian-Lemoore, had 61 points in two victories, upping his season average to 26.0 on the season.

Elliott Schwartz, a freshman girls basketball player for John Adams Academy, continues to put up crazy numbers, with a combined 90 points in two wins. She added 29 rebounds, nine assists and 35 steals according to statistics supplied by coaches on MaxPreps.

Ella Skrzyniarz, a 5-8 sophomore for Vista del Lago-Folsom, combined to score 76 points in wins over Del Oro (59-55), Oak Ridge (47-40) and Sacramento (56-42). She added 20 rebounds and 13 steals in the three victories.

Kanyah Stubbs, a 5-6 junior guard for Hanford, led her team in three games by piling up 91 points, 20 rebounds and 15 steals while beating Lemoore (68-54) and Redwood (58-44), and losing 50-38 to Dinuba.

Tounde Yessoufou, a sophomore basketball player at St. Joseph-Santa Maria, combined for 62 points on 30 of 41 from the floor, to go with 27 rebounds, seven assists and 11 steals in two wins.
