Heading into the 2023 season, one of the best players in the state resides out of Pasco County in Zephyrhills 2-way star wide receiver/safety DJ Pickett. 

Pickett is coming off his first season with the Bulldogs and to say he made an impact is an understatement of sorts. As a sophomore, Pickett stepped in and played both ways, helping Zephyrhills reach the region final in Class 3S. 

Last season at receiver, Pickett caught 43 passes for 886 yards, 12 touchdowns and on defense made 39 tackles and four interceptions. He will be the leader of a Zephyrhills’ club that should make a viable run towards competing for the Class 3S state championship this fall.
