Pasco County All-Star Football Game is back for 9th Annual event

Pasco County Athletic Director Matt Wicks confirmed Tuesday afternoon

After a one year hiatus, the Pasco County All-Star Game returns for its 9th annual event.

According to Wicks, the game will include only Pasco County high schools. Last year’s event included Citrus and Hernando counties.

“I am personally excited to be back organizing this special event,” FCA’s Bob Durham said.

The game will take place on Friday, December 8th, 2023 at 7 p.m. at Sunlake High School, according to Durham, who founded the game back in 2015.

Mark Kantor of Wiregrass Ranch, who was the head coach of the East squad back in 2015 in the game’s first ever game, will be the lead man once again this year for the Pasco County East schools.

Sean Eperjesi of Gulf High School will coach the West All-Star team. Eperjesi is currently in his third season with Buccaneers.

At halftime, special needs athletes will compete in a football throw at midfield, per Durham. The event is being sponsored by the U.S. Army recruiters of Wesley Chapel.

Wicks added that hopes are the event will be hosted in December, 2024 at the new Angeline Sports Complex that will be on the campus of the county’s newest school, the Angeline Academy of Innovation. The sports complex will feature a new turf field for the school’s athletic teams.
