Photos: Humboldt rolls past Hampton-Dumont-CAL Friday night

The Wildcats advance to the quarterfinals of the Class 3A Iowa high school football playoffs

For the second straight season, Humboldt slammed Hampton-Dumont-CAL in a opening-round home football playoff game.

Humboldt ran away with a 39-0 win Friday night in a Round of 16 game. With the win, Humboldt will play Independence in the Class 3A state football quarterfinals next week.

Friday night, the Wildcats notched first-half scoring drives of 61, 72, 18, 53, 82 and 60 yards. The second half began with a running clock.

Humboldt running back Lance Coon ran for more than 100 yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback Will Orness added two rushing TDs and passed for another score.
