Minnesota high school football is over, and many players stood out in the 2023 Class 3A season.

SBLive has chosen 14 standout athletes who had top seasons in 2023.

Minnesota high school football Class 3A Player of the Year

Koi Perich – Esko

Perhaps the top player in the state, Perich helped Esko get to the state quarterfinals before getting injured in the game. He is the No. 8 safety prospect in the country according to 247sports.com.

He finished with 57 tackles, two sacks, five interceptions, one forced fumble and five defensive touchdowns. He is committed to Minnesota. He‘s recently received offers from USC, Ohio State and Florida State.

Zashon Rich – Minneapolis North

Rich was a playmaker all season for the Polars. His playmaking earned an offer from Kansas State, which he committed to on December 1.

Anaise Dotson – Minneapolis North

Dotson was a monster in the backfield of opposing offenses this season. He finished with 17 sacks and 62 total tackles.

Ayden Helder – Stewartville

Helder posted fantastic numbers in 2023. At quarterback, Helder completed 70 percent of his passes for 2,244 and 39 touchdowns to one interception. He also ran for 345 yards and four touchdowns. 

Blaze Geiger – Fairmont

Geiger threw for 1,314 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also ran for 64 yards and 327 yards and six touchdowns. The Cardinals went 9-2 this season.

Logan Stedman – Rockford

Stedman was a force on the ground all season. He had 191 rushing attempts for 1,371 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Elijah Johnson – Fairmont

Johnson powered the Cardinals’ running game to 9.1 yards per game. He had 1,313 rushing yards this season and 19 touchdowns.

Grant Wohletz – Albany

Wohletz was one of the top tacklers in Class 3A. He had 92 total tackles and three sacks and one forced fumble. 

Mason Delzer – New London-Spicer

Delzer was one of the top running backs in Class 4A. He finished with 194 carries, 1,633 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns. 

Harrison Brun – Rockford

Brun was a star on both sides of the ball. He finished with 92 total tackles and four interceptions. He also caught 31 receptions for 512 yards and five touchdowns, and he ran 51 times for 235 yards and three touchdowns. 

Josh Dudgeon – Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton

At 6-foot-4, 280 pounds, Dudgeon was one of the best offensive lineman in Class 3A. He was solid at left tackle for Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton this season. 

Zach Bentler – Two Harbors

Bentler had a fantastic season at defensive line for Two Harbors. He finished with a team-high 63 total tackles, 23 of them for loss, and 5.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. 

Jmarion Sanders – Minneapolis North

Sanders was one of the top outside weapons in Class 3A this season. He had 61 receptions for 701 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Brady Grupa – La Crescent-Hokah

Grupa was another top receiver this season. He caught 58 passes for 1,028 yards and nine touchdowns.
