What we're watching: Power 25 national high school football games of the week: (Oct. 13-15)

In Georgia, No. 16 Mill Creek takes on No. 14 Buford this week.

We released our ninth SBLive Power 25 of 2022 on Monday — our weekly look at the top 25 teams in the country.

This week, high school football fans in Georgia will see two of the top three teams in the state battle it out when No. 16 Mill Creek takes on No. 14 Buford. In Texas, Westlake (Austin) and Duncanville both play undefeated in state foes as well.

Here’s a closer look at a few of the country's elite and who they'll take on with an emphasis on how the result could influence next week's Power 25 rankings.

What we're watching this week:

FRIDAY

No. 10 Westlake-Austin, Texas (6-0) at Dripping Springs-Texas (6-0)

CalPreps ranks Westlake as the No. 6 team in Texas and Dripping Springs at No. 11. This should be a great Texas high school football game.

Westlake is led by senior receivers Jaden Greathouse, a Notre Dame commit, and Keaton Kubecka, a Kansas commit. Class of 2023 interior lineman TJ Shanahan is committed to Texas A&M and class of 2023 edge rusher Colton Vasek is committed to Oklahoma.

For Dripping Springs, senior quarterback Austin Novosad is committed to Baylor. He's thrown 16 touchdowns and only two picks so far this year.

Prediction on how the game impacts Power 25: Westlake wins by two scores to keep its place in next week's rankings.

No. 16 Mill Creek-Hoschton, Ga. (6-0) at No. 14 Buford-Ga. (6-0)

This is the game of the week across the country. Buford has a high-powered offense with Alabama running back commit Justice Haynes, Virginia Tech quarterback commit Dylan Wittke and junior receiver/safety KJ Bolden all in the fold.

For Mill Creek, senior safety Caleb Downs is the top-ranked player in Georgia in the 2023 class, per 247Sports.com. He's committed to Alabama. Senior linebacker Jamal Anderson is a Clemson pledge.

Prediction on how the game impacts Power 25: This game will be close and both teams will be ranked next week.

Mansfield-Texas (6-0) at No. 18 Duncanville-Texas (5-0)

Duncanville is undefeated, but the Panthers haven't had the easiest go of it in 2022. Last week, Duncanville relied on three fourth-quarter defensive turnovers to pull away from Waxahachie 24-7. Can undefeated Mansfield put up enough points to hang around this week?

Duncanville's top-ranked recruit is 2024 edge rusher Colin Simmons. For Mansfield, senior safety Brenden Jordan is committed to Texas Tech.

Prediction on how the game impacts Power 25: Duncanville wins by two scores to stay in next week's rankings.

Auburn-Ala. (7-0) vs. Central-Phenix City, Ala. (6-2)

Here's another matchup filled with top recruits. Senior Auburn offensive lineman Bradyn Joiner is committed to Auburn University. For Central, junior cornerback AJ Harris is committed to Georgia and senior defensive lineman Tomarrion Parker and senior wide receiver Karmello English are national recruits.

Prediction on how the game impacts Power 25: Central upsets Auburn ending the Tigers' Power 25 hopes.

Franklin-Livonia, Mich. (7-0) vs. Belleville-Mich. (7-0)

Belleville is currently on the outside looking in of the Power 25. A big win over undefeated Franklin would improve the Tigers' chances of making next week's rankings. Belleville's top-ranked recruit is junior linebacker Jeremiah Beasley.

Prediction on how the game impacts Power 25: Belleville wins to stay on the Power 25 periphery.

Brownsburg-Ind. (8-0) vs. Hamilton Southeastern-Fishers, Ind. (8-0)

Brownsburg is in a similar position to Belleville: On our Power 25 radar, but lacking a signature win to really garner top 25 consideration. A blowout win over Hamilton Southeastern would help Brownsburg's chances.

The Bulldogs' top players are senior offensive lineman Leighton Jones (Iowa commit), senior quarterback Jayden Whitaker (Western Illinois) and tight end Brady Propst (Illinois State).

Prediction on how the game impacts Power 25: Brownsburg wins to stay on the Power 25 periphery.

Edgewater-Orlando, Fla. (7-0) vs. Ocoee-Fla. (5-1)

Edgewater could definitely break into the Power 25 by the season's end. Their top players are senior running back Cedric Baxter Jr. (Texas commit) and senior tight end Camp Magee. To boost their Power 25 resume, Edgewater would need to win with some style points.

Prediction on how the game impacts Power 25: Edgewater wins big to inch closer to a Power 25 berth.

SATURDAY

St. Edward-Lakewood, Ohio (7-1) at Archbishop Moeller-Cincinnati (8-0)

This game may be a preview of the Division 1 state championship in Ohio. St. Edward senior defensive lineman Michael Kilbane is committed to Northwestern. Moeller's rushing game is one of the best in the nation thanks to junior tailback Jordan Marshall.

Prediction on how the game impacts Power 25: Archbishop Moeller wins to stay in next week's Power 25 rankings.

Mililani-Hawaii (6-2) vs. Kahuku-Hawaii (7-2)

This game pits Hawaii's No. 1 (Kahuku) against Hawaii's No. 2 (Mililani). It will also decide the OIA Open regular season champion. Class of 2023 Kahuku linebacker Liona Lefau is committed to Texas and 2023 safety Brock Fonoimoana is committed to Utah. Class of 2023 Mililani safety Gavin Hunter is committed to the University of Arizona.

Prediction on how the game impacts Power 25: Kahuku wins by two or three scores. The victory will either get the Red Raiders back into the Power 25 or just barely outside it (Kahuku was ranked No. 25 last week).

Kellenberg Memorial-Uniondale, N.Y. (5-1) vs. Iona Prep-New Rochelle, N.Y. (4-2)

Kellenberg Memorial against Iona Prep will be a battle for New York supremacy. Earlier this season, Iona Prep took down New Jersey's No. 1 Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.) showing that they're among the nation's elite.

Iona Prep senior linebacker Zyian Moultrie-Goddard is committed to Syracuse.

Prediction on how the game impacts Power 25: Iona Prep wins to stay in the Power 25 hunt.
