Whether pitching or hitting, Renae Cunningham was on a mission Saturday for the Heath softball team.

The junior struck out 11 in five innings and fell a single short of the cycle, going 4-for-4 with two home runs, a triple, a double and six RBIs in Heath's 12-5 win over John Glenn at Pickerington Central High School.

The Bulldogs hoisted the regional championship trophy and advanced to the state softball tournament for the first time since 1991.

They'll play Wooster Triway at 10 a.m. Thursday in Akron for a shot at playing in the Division II state championship Saturday.
