Walk-off RBI single by Ashlyn Severns of Tallmadge voted as top play from 2023 OHSAA softball state tournament
The junior's base hit helped Tallmadge defeat Greenville in the state semifinals
Congratulations to Tallmadge softball’s Ashlyn Severns for being voted as the top play from the OHSAA state softball tournament.
With Tallmadge and Greenville tied 5-5 in the bottom of the seventh inning in the Division II state semifinals, Severns lined a single back up the middle to score Leila Staszak for the game-winning run. The Blue Devils then went on to beat Canfield 9-0 to win the Division II state title.
Severns received 31.45% of the over 36,000 votes cast.
