Smyth received 49.81% of the vote, beating out North Douglas’ Makayla Murphy, who finished second with 17.04%.

Congratulations to North Eugene’s Hannah Smyth for being voted SBLive’s WaFdBank Oregon Girls Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 17-23. 

Smyth, a junior forward on the North Eugene soccer team, scored three goals to help the Highlanders get a 4-1 win over Eagle Point in a Midwestern League match at Eagle Point. 

Smyth received 49.81% of the vote, beating out Makayla Murphy, a senior on the North Douglas volleyball team, who finished second with 17.04%. Caile Lader, a junior on the North Marion soccer team, was third with 15.90% and Sara Davies, a junior on the Sunset volleyball team, was fourth with 12.41%. There were nearly 7,000 votes tallied this week.
