The Oregon high school football season is scheduled to begin Thursday, Aug. 31 — 61 days from today. As we count down the days until kickoff, SBLive Oregon will give you one significant number per day.

Mark Hamper of West Linn returned a punt 61 yards for the first of his touchdowns in the Lions’ win over North Medford in Week 1 of 2022.

In addition to the punt-return touchdown, he had one touchdown each rushing and receiving against the Black Tornado. That game was the only one in 2022 that Hamper was reported to have scored rushing and on special teams/defense.

Hamper had 19 receiving touchdowns in 2022, with at least one in 10 of 13 games and at least two in six.
