Willamette knocks off Jefferson in Oregon 6A girls basketball state tournament quarterfinal

Wolverines 53, Democrats 47

Fifth-seeded Willamette rode a big second quarter to a 53-47 victory over No. 4 Jefferson in a Class 6A girls basketball state tournament quarterfinal Thursday at the University of Portland's Chiles Center. 

The Wolverines outscored the Democrats 14-2 in the second period to take control.
