Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Pennsylvania high school athlete of the week for September 3-9. Read through the nominees and cast your vote. Lola Abraham, Riverview girls soccer
The Pitt commit found the net four times and assisted on three other goals in a 10-1 win over Serra Catholic.
Brock Cornell, West Allegheny football
In a win over Ringgold, Cornell scored three rushing touchdowns and also returned the game’s opening kickoff for a score.
Jamari Curlett, North East football
Made four catches for 110 yards and scored on three of them in a 35-0 win over Oil City. He also had a 70-yard punt return for a touchdown.
Eric Doerue, South Park football
In a shutout of Brentwood, Doerue ran for 253 yards and scored three times.
Julian Dugger, Penn Hills football
In a win over Pine-Richland, the Pitt commit rushed for 150 yards on 12 carries and scored twice. He also accounted for two more touchdowns through the air.
Colton Frazier, Shenango football
Hauled in nine passes for 167 yards and three touchdowns in a 24-19 win over Riverside.
Riley Hall, Montour girls soccer
The senior recorded a hat trick in a 5-1 win over Blackhawk.
Tiqwai Hayes, Aliquippa football
In a 33-7 win over North Catholic, Hayes ran for 228 yards and three touchdowns.
Tysean Jones, Harbor Creek football
In just one half of action on Thursday night, the running back went for 172 yards and three touchdowns. Of his three scores, one was from 65 yards and another was from 40.
Semaj Jones, St. Joseph’s Prep football
The Cincinnati commit accounted for three touchdowns as the Hawks defeated Lakeland (Florida) 45-21. Jones scored twice on the ground and threw a 40-yard touchdown pass.
Leah Myers, Albert Gallatin girls volleyball
In a three-set win over Uniontown, she had 17 kills and picked up four aces.
Paige Patsy, Erie Cathedral Prep girls tennis
The freshman keeps stepping up, this time with a three-set win at No. 1 singles in a dual win over Erie High.
Mylea Riggle, Armstrong girls soccer
In a 1-0 win over Indiana, Riggle scored the only goal of the game, the 50th of the senior’s career.
Rico Scott, Bishop McDevitt football
Pulled down eight catches for 210 yards and three touchdowns in a 47-21 win over La Salle.
Caullin Summers, Sharpsville football
In a win over Reynolds, Summers threw for 383 yards and six touchdowns and added 106 yards and a score on the ground.
Cooper Taylor, Central Bucks West football
In a 40-20 win over Quakertown, Taylor carried the ball 13 times for 173 yards and a pair of touchdowns while also throwing for a score.
Braylon Wagner, Redbank Valley football
In a 50-27 win over Punxsutawney, he completed all but two of his 23 pass attempts for 391 yards and six touchdowns and scored the other Bulldog touchdown on the ground.
Peyton Wehner, Pittsburgh Central Catholic football
The senior quarterback threw for 289 yards and five touchdowns and also scored twice on the ground as the Vikings remained undefeated with a 62-46 win over Bethel Park.
Tasso Whipple, Penn-Trafford football
In a 28-26 win over Woodland Hills, Whipple carried the ball 27 times for 220 yards and three touchdowns.
Jacob Zietz, General McClane football
The junior intercepted four passes in a 34-14 win over Franklin.
